Dental Crown
Prevent damaged teeth from breaks and decay
What is a dental crown?
A dental crown goes over your native tooth like a thin shell. Since it is customised for your teeth, you won’t notice much of a difference, and it looks entirely natural, no one will even notice that it is there.
Porcelain, an extremely durable material that can be matched to the colour of your natural teeth, is typically used to make dental crowns. Although a dental crown made of gold doesn’t have the same natural appearance as other options, it does provide more strength. For this reason, gold is typically chosen for back teeth, which are hidden when you smile but perform more of the heavy lifting when it comes to chewing.
When your natural tooth is compromised, cracked, or otherwise injured, a dental crown is typically necessary.
For instance, many individuals who have a dental crown fitted over the tooth for increased strength.
A dental crown can also be used to improve the appearance of discoloured or irregularly shaped teeth. If regular treatment is insufficient, for instance, a dental crown might be put over the natural tooth for a whiter grin.
